Buying or selling a home is a huge undertaking. It is very important to find someone to work with who has your best interests in mind.  In January 2021, I launched my own real estate firm, Amy Gerrity-Parent Realty.  I had earned my real estate license in 2015, and had several successful years under my belt.  I wanted to branch out on my own, so that I could provide the highest quality service to buyers and sellers.  My business model is working with you from start to finish, beside you, guiding you, all the way.  I offer everything that buyers and sellers need to make the process smooth and successful.

The biggest thing I learned this past year was how to negotiate in the crazy real estate market of 2021. Buyers were needing to purchase sight unseen to compete in the fast market pace. Being able to help those buyers while protecting their interests in one of the biggest investments of their life was critical, all while competing with numerous other agents. Utilizing my previous business experience,  my advanced real estate training, and my state-of-the-art technology, I got homes in front of as many eyes as possible for top dollar, all the while providing excellent service for buyers and sellers.

In the world in which we are living, it is vital to take advantage of every opportunity to showcase a home.  The same day I launched my firm, I ordered a Matterport 3D camera. That’s because the Matterports I produce for each property provide detailed, 3D virtual tours of your home to potential buyers, whether or not they are able to visit in person.  It has proven an excellent service I provide my clients.  In 2021, 25 percent of my sales were initiated with people viewing properties through Matterport.

I also work with a drone photographer. My drone videos of homes include views of the city or town where it is located, providing potential buyer’s a perspective that connects them to the property, even if they can’t visit it in person.

Vermont HomeMy first year on my own, I am near $10 million in total sales. I closed some $8 million in sales for my firm, another 1.4 million for the company where I previously worked, and I helped other realtors with two relocations.   In all, I helped buyers and sellers with 36 units of property.  On average, I closed three properties each month this year.

I helped a lot of people get to the next stage of their life in 2021, whether that was a first home, a bigger home, or downsizing to a smaller home. My biggest accomplishment was equally working with sellers who were also buyers. To help one unit through the process – a seller who is also buying – is a fulfilling feeling.

As I look forward to 2022, I see so much opportunity. Now that I have laid the groundwork for a company representing my name and business values, I am planning to grow it by adding agents to work with more clients.  I will choose those agents carefully, as they will represent my brand and my good name.

I feel blessed that 95 percent of my first-year business was by referrals.  A referral is the best compliment you can get.
